Our fundraising event at Parliament House on March 23rd was a great success! We want to thank Jim Fouras, our long standing Management Committee member for organising this event and to all the community members who came along on the night, we hope you enjoyed your evening as much as we did!
To all the businesses and local members that contributed prizes for our raffles, we were overwhelmed by your support and cannot thank you enough, we had many happy winners! Parliament House provided an amazing venue and hospitality for the evening, the views of the city were delightful and the food was delicious.
To Father Wally Dethlefs, thank you for sharing some of the history of NWYAS with everyone and providing insight into some of the struggles young people face within the youth homelessness and justice systems in Queensland and Australia.
Father Wally, your commitment and passion for supporting disadvantaged young people is as present today as it was when you began so many years ago, you’re an inspiration and motivator to our sector and the work we try to achieve each day.
Lastly, to all the members of the community that gave up their time to spend the evening with us, that were so generous with your donations, we are so pleased to announce that we were able to raise a total of $3,152.00, these are funds that will go directly to helping young people in our local community, thank you again for all your support.
